IT’S a debate that rages time and time again: which of our biggest cities is the best?
Is Sydney the most superb destination, or is Melbourne more magical?
Well, when it comes to hotels, one thing’s for sure, the winner ISN’T Sydney.
That’s according to travel search site Wego.com.au, who gathered information from 50,000 travellers on hotel satisfaction in the two states, with the help of TrustYou.
It was a tight battle, with Melbourne scoring an overall rate of 87.78 compared to Sydney’s 87.56.
The cultural centre of the nation, Melbourne, beat its glitzy neighbour in areas such as bathroom cleanliness, food, price, the quality of beds and service. Overall, it topped Sydney in 10 out of the 15 categories surveyed.
Meanwhile, Sydney outranked Melbourne for internet, location, night-life, general room satisfaction and, understandably, for views.
