It currently is the #1 travel app for Indonesian iPhone users. The Asian startup scene has been heating up in recent years, with a large proportion of these new ventures being travel focused. However, Wego is one travel firm which started even before this wave had begun.
The self-professed startup (which is more than 8 years old) seeks to provide travellers with the best prices that OTAs have to offer. Wego was co-founded by Ross Veitch who had developed his career building internet companies most notably for Yahoo! where he was employee #1 in Southeast Asia. In 2005, he teamed up with Craig Hewett who was managing e-commerce across APAC for Intercontinental Hotels Group to bring travel metasearch to the Asia-Pacific.
