Wego Philippines launches ‘Life Changing Travel Story’ Contest

Singapore, 17 February, 2014 – Wego, the leading travel metasearch site in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, in conjunction with Cebu Pacific Air, Tourism Promotions Board and Choose Philippines, will put the Philippines in the spotlight with the launch of a national blogging campaign on February 17.

‘Your Life-Changing Travel Story’ invites Filipino-based writers and bloggers to share their life-changing travel experiences in the Philippines. A prize of P100,000 and two round trip Cebu Pacific Air flights to any domestic destination will be awarded to the best story as selected by the judges.

“There are so many magnificent destinations in the Philippines, but there’s also a lot more than just spectacular beaches and beautiful countryside,” said Eliza Diaz, Market Development Manager for Wego Philippines. “We wanted to give people the opportunity to share the diverse culture, heritage and real spirit of this country by sharing their personal travel stories that have in some way left an indelible mark on their lives.”

First and second runners-up will be awarded P20,000 and P10,000 respectively, with an additional seven consolation prizes of P5,000.

“We are very happy to support this contest because it encourages people to tell their travel stories, and showcases the many reasons why everyJuan flies,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Air vice president for marketing and distribution. “We fly to over 30 Philippine destinations, and we look forward to flying the winner to his or her next life-changing trip.”

“Travel in all its forms changes you in some way or another,” continued Diaz. “We’re very excited to be showcasing the Philippines in this way and giving travellers an opportunity to share their unique and individual experiences.”
