SINGAPORE, September 10th, 2012 – Wego.com, the Asia-Pacific’s leading travel search engine today unveiled a completely redesigned version of it’s popular Deals feature that always lists the hottest travel deals available in a market at any given time. The new Deals feature is immediately available on all 42 Wego country sites worldwide, but only in the English language editions initially.

The new Wego Deals site, available at www.wego.com/deals, features a Pinterest inspired design that takes a photo driven approach to showcasing travel deals on an endlessly refreshing page.

Consumers who want to receive advance notice of new travel deals can sign up for a free newsletter delivered weekly as part of a priority service to Wego users in selected countries.

Wego’s professional editors led by travel industry veteran and Wego CMO, Dean Wicks, uncover the best and more unusual deals from multiple partners such as online travel agents Expedia, Viva! Holidays, cruise operators Ecruising and Seven Oceans, airlines like Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, KLM and Virgin Australia, adventure operators including Intrepid Travel and G Adventures as well as Agoda, Splendia and many more specialists.

“With a great selection of thousands of travel deals, the new Deals site is a complete menu of mouth-watering travel opportunities,”

commented Wicks.

“Any travel company that has a fabulous deal that they want to tell consumers about should get in touch with the Wego Deals team.”

Deals are sourced from all markets and for all destinations globally. Deals are categorised by product type, (eg, flight, hotel, package, cruise, etc), budget, destination as well as themes such as beach, escape, weekend, romantic and boutique.

Wego Deals was originally launched as a fully automated travel deals aggregation service, like Google News, but focused on surfacing the best offers for flights, hotels, package tours, cruises and more. Travel industry experts working as editors were then added to the mix, to manually scour the internet looking for the best travel deals.

“Having now experimented with both expert and machine based approaches, our experience has shown that a thoughtful combination of both algorithmic selection augmented with human judgement is the best approach to curation in a space as fast moving, subjective and market-specific as travel deals,”

explained Jasmine Lim, Wego’s Director of Product Management and Partner Integration.

Analysis has shown that it is becoming an increasingly common behaviour for users to find a deal on Wego Deals and then match it with flights or accommodation found via Wego’s metasearch offering.
